Chik’N Delights: A Success Story

14 Jan

Remember how I posted the Ham Delights recipe? I altered it a bit to be able to suit my vegetarian needs.

I present to you the result: Chik’N Delights.

A few aspects of the Ham Delight recipe have been altered. First, I had no Worcestershire sauce, and as such, I couldn’t use it. I have no doubt it would have enhanced the flavor. Second, I found myself lacking Swiss cheese, which was neither here nor there- the double cheesy goodness is great normally, but the absence didn’t detract from the overall flavor.

The original recipe is in a recent post, which you can find by clicking here.

Preparing the Chik’N delights can be tricky, so pay attention!

First, cook the Chik’N nuggets for about three-quarters of the time listed on the box.

Next, take them out of the oven and allow them to cool.

Once cool, take each nugget and cut it in half. Then place the nugget on the top of the cheese on the dinner rolls, as per the Ham Delight recipe.

Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes or so, and you have yourself a wonderful, easy-to-eat appetizer that even your vegetarian friends can eat!

Get to it, review it, and get back to me.

I have that same plate! I’m going to be trying some vegetarian things out, coming up soon. How long have you been a Vegetarian?

At the beginning of February, it will have been two years! How crazy is that?

I still eat seafood, though. So I guess that technically makes me a pesco-vegetarian.

Either way, I don’t really miss meat- but I really have missed out on the ability to cook with meat, so that part of it is somewhat sad.

But, look at what a wonderful thing you can do with Southern cooking and pesco-vegetarian recipes. Could be a whole new venue!

Hey, that’s true- and we do love fish in the South, so that helps.
